Who owns and operates The Elizabeth?

Stewart Properties Holdings Ltd is the owner and operator of this retirement complex. Based in Saskatoon, Stewart Properties operates throughout Saskatchewan with 8 years in development and property management. Our goal is to provide a safe, affordable and enjoyable facility to spend your retirement. It’s our mission to create a community within the community which enhances the quality of life for seniors.

Who is the architect on this project?

Kindrachuk Agrey Architecture is a Saskatoon based full service design, planning, and architectural consulting practice committed to innovative and sustainable building design. They create modern, functional and responsive spaces utilizing the most appropriate technology to serve their client’s needs with the best possible service.

When will the building be finished and ready to move in?

The goal is to launch the opening of The Elizabeth in the summer of 2018.

How many units are there in total?

  • 26 Independent Living Units
  • 13 Assisted Living Units

How large will rental spaces be?

Rental spaces will be based on room type. Please see the Floor Plans for further details.

How much will rental cost?

The cost for a standard rent is based on room type and location. Please see Pricing for further details.

Are there any units subsidized? If so, how many?

All subsidized based on income levels

Are utilities separate or included in my monthly rental fee?

Heat and water is included. For residents in Independent Living suites, the power would be under the residents name and billed separately. For those in Assisted Living, the power is included.

What lifestyle options are available at The Elizabeth?

Whether you are wishing to retain maximum independence while enjoying all of the amenities or need assistance to live comfortably, we got your covered. The Elizabeth offers two unique lifestyle options; independent living and assisted living.

What's the difference between independent living and assisted living?

  • Independent living provides you with a small kitchen, and living room and perhaps doesn’t require Home Care or minimal Home Care.
  • Assisted Living is for someone who requires perhaps a bit more Home Care and doesn’t want the hassle of the larger space and responsibility.

What is the difference between the studio suites and the one bedroom units?

A Studio suite would be an open concept room without a separate bedroom

What type of care is provided at The Elizabeth?

  • We provide a safe, caring, warm place to call home with amenities at your finger tips.
  • Office Manager available on site Monday – Friday 8a.m – 5p.m.
  • Events Coordinator to assist with an active lifestyle
  • Treatment Room should you be receiving Home Care and they need an area to supply treatment to you
  • Hydrosonic soaking tub available if you require Home Care. They have access to our Tub, Shower multipurpose room along with you are resident.
  • We do NOT supply Home Care.

Are there any programs available?

You bet! Our in house Event Coordinator will be providing a weekly and monthly schedule of events and programs to all residents.

Our varied leisure calendar is full of programs to pique your interest and inspire you to continue to learn, teach and grow. Is there something you wish you were able to try, but haven’t had the time? Let us help you reconnect with a past hobby or fulfill a lifelong dream.

Am I able to book a tour of the place?

At this time you are able to view the floor plans and suite plans through our website. Once the renovations to The Elizabeth is complete and we are open, you can contact our office manager at 306-682-RENT to book a tour.

How can I have the suite of my choice?

All suites will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis. An application and deposit is required as the first step in the process.

Are you taking names for rental suites?

Yes we are taking names. You must complete an application and a deposit must be provided in order to reserve a room. If at any time your personal circumstances change please ensure we are notified so we can find another occupant for the unit. All deposits are forfeit upon application approval as per the lease agreement.

What is the dining experience like?

You will love coming down to our Dining Room and enjoying a relaxed breakfast between 7am – 9am every morning. Lunch will be served between 12pm – 1pm and Supper between 5pm – 6pm. Our Dining Room will be an area for your to socialize and make new friends. There will be a coffee bistro available in the Dining Room 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

You can rent out a private dining area for family and guests on special occasions.

Do I have to be in the meal program or can I opt out?

We highly recommend our guests take advantage of the meal program as you will receive 3 home cooked meals every day in the grand dining room. You will also have access to the bistro style kitchen with coffee, tea and snacks.

If you would like to opt out of the meal program, we will make sure this is stated in our lease agreement with us.

Will you be able to buy meals?

Yes you can opt in or out of meals and the costs associated with meals will added to your lease agreement. Our talented cooks will be providing food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, 7 days per week.

Is there a hospitality suite?

Yes we have a hospitality suite should you have out of town guests that would like a place to stay close to you. It is available by rental through our office manager who is on site Monday to Friday from 8a.m – 5p.m.

I am married, can we share a room?

Yes, definitely. We would love to have you join our community. There is an additional cost for two persons in a room and this will be built into your lease agreement along with all other costs. For more information, please get in touch with us.

Will parking be provided?

Yes one parking stall will be available to each resident at a cost of $50 per month. If required, this expense will be added on to the lease agreement.

Is this facility pet friendly?

Yes we have designated suites where you will be able to bring your cat or dog. You are only allowed one pet per unit and there are restrictions on animal size. Noisy pets will not be tolerated.

Can I upgrade the appliances?

No. We are sorry but you are not able to updgrade your appliances. We will supply quality appliances that are consistent throughout each unit. These appliances will be serviced and maintained by our maintenance staff and local service providers.

Does my unit come with cable television and internet?

We have an exclusive agreement with a local cable company. This is included in your monthly fee and integrated right into the lease agreement. We want to make it easy on you so you only have to worry about one bill every month. If there are any issues with your cable service, our team will be there to find a solution for you at no extra charge.

Where will I get my mail?

Each resident will be supplied a mailbox and key, these mailboxes will be located off the main entrance for easy access.

Do I do my own laundry?

Laundry services will not be provided but you are able to purchase this service provided by Home Care. You have full access to multiple washers and dryers throughout the complex.
